Iranian authorities have warned local authorized miners to temporarily cut off electricity. This is reported by Tehran Times.
According to the publication, at the time of writing, there are 118 cryptocurrency mining companies in the country. They are expected to disconnect from the grid starting next month according to the Iranian calendar, which begins June 22.
Iranian Energy Ministry spokesman Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi said the restrictions are dictated by rising consumption, with a record 62,500 MW recorded last week. According to the forecasts of the authorities, the figure will reach 63,000 MW in the near future.
