One third of citizens of developed countries for the legalization of cryptocurrencies

37% of survey participants from among citizens of developed and developing countries were in favor of the approval of digital assets as a means of payment. These results were obtained by the researchers of The Economist.

43% of respondents were neutral on this issue, while 18% were against it.

The study involved 3,000 people from the U.S., UK, France, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Brazil, Turkey, Vietnam, South Africa and the Philippines.

37% of respondents were in favor of the CBDC issue, while 19% were against.

Respondents were more enthusiastic about NFT. 60% reported interest in operations with such tokens and only 7% reported no interest. As for DeFi, analysts received 34% positive and 17% negative responses.

13% of the respondents admitted that they use cryptocurrencies for payments, 18% – expressed confidence that in their country cash will actually completely withdraw from circulation. The Economist saw this as an impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
